Our website is:  www.scfcoop.com  This will bring up the home page (green screen).

Printing these tips might be helpful so that you can view them the first time you are on the site.  If the instructions don’t work for you, please let me know so that I can write them more clearly—I am struggling with a real-life version of writing directions for making a PB & J sandwich!

The Produce Orders, Reports, Contact Us and Links tabs are working.

·       Produce Orders brings up a page with 4 links:

o      Pricelist--The entire current pricelist is here.  You can click File and Save As to save it to your computer so you can see it without being connected to the internet.

o      Placing Order--This is where you enter your produce order.  The whole pricelist is also visible here in drop down list boxes.

o      View Existing Order—This shows the entire current order grouped by item.  It shows the quantity that each family has requested and the total number of each item requested.

o      Tips—This includes ordering instructions and/or whatever else we want.

·       Reports  allows you to view and print orders in 3 formats:

o      Current Orders by Item Number

o      Current Orders by Family (this includes everyone’s orders)

o      Current Order for a single family

o      File Dump just gives a view of the order storage area.

·       Contact Us sends an e-mail to scfcoop@yahoo.com.  Send a note if you have questions or suggestions!

·       Links brings you directly to the United Food Buying Club website and Albert’s website.

To order your produce:

Two important pieces of information when placing your order:

·       On your order form page, the Hot Sheet items are the first items in the pricelist.  Clicking the arrow in an item box will let you see them easily (the first 15 or so items on the list).  Since Albert’s does not give them a number, we have added HS or FS so that you’d know which items were on special (HS=Hot Sheet, FS=Fresh Items).  Control + Home will also bring you to the top of the pricelist.

·       When ordering, please do not hit enter while you are in the Quantity box—this will submit your order immediately.  Although hitting enter works fine to select your name as well as your items, using the tab key might be your best bet so that you don’t inadvertently submit your order before you are finished.

Placing your order:

·       Click Produce Orders tab

·       Click View Existing Order link to bring up the April 2006 Orders page which shows everything that has been requested so far.

·       Click Place Produce Order link to bring up the Order Entry Page

·       You’ll probably want to see both screens at once so that you can make sure you order the correct item #, so you should minimize the green home page and right click on your task bar to Tile Vertically.  You may want to minimize other open windows for a better view.

·       On the Order Entry Page, find your name by tabbing to the Family Name box and typing the first letter of the last name until your name appears.  If you hold that letter, it will automatically scroll through all the names beginning with that letter.  You can also get into the box by clicking in it.  Click the arrow to pull up the entire name list and scroll through the entire list with your mouse or arrows.  Select your name by clicking on it or hitting Tab.

·       Tab to the first item box and hit the first letter of whatever item you want to order (B for bananas, broccoli, butter, etc.)  Again, holding the first letter will automatically scroll you through all items beginning with that letter and will automatically jump from veggies to fruit to meat, etc.  When you are on what you’d like, click or hit tab to select it.

·       Tab to the Quantity box and enter the number you want.  Tab to the next item box, but please do not hit the ENTER key while you are in the Quantity box as this will submit your order immediately!

·       Continue tabbing to add items/quantities and click the Submit Order button when you’re finished.

·       This will automatically show you an Order Results page which summarizes your order.  You can print this or just close it.

·       To confirm that your order has actually been written to the website file, click View Existing Orders again from the home page and you should see it.

Of course, there are still things to do!

Right now there are 12 ordering lines so that they fit on the page without having to scroll.  If you want to order more than 12 items at one time now, you have to place another order.  If we keep the site going, we will switch to a database format and will be able to add as many lines as you like.

Another issue is enabling people to modify the quantity of something they want after they order.  Right now, if you ordered 14 of something and wanted to change the quantity you have to go in and place a new order for it with a different amount.  You’d type 3 in the quantity box for 3 more or -7 in the quantity box for 7 less.  In both cases, a new line shows up on the existing order page rather than just changing the quantity of the original line.  This will go away if we switch to the database next month.
